The owner and operator Thomas Thornton has completed projects ranging from million dollar custom home sites to additions, kitchens, baths, and all types of remodeling and renovation all over the Main Line and southern Delaware County. A note on hiring one of the major "DO IT Yourself Store"contractor services... If you have thought of hiring any of these stores' contractor services you should know a few things. These stores' contractor service departments may hire sub-contractors that do not get to price their own work or even see a job before they agree to get paid a pre-set price for it's completion. This means that the stores estimator or salesman, who is being paid commission for each job booked, will usually under-estimate a job and leave it for the contractor to deal with in order to book more jobs. This leaves you the customer with one of two desicions -- you will pay more or your job won't get done. From personal experience this can be as bad as a job estimated for $40,000 costing close to $100,000. So, just because these stores can give you a contractor to do a job doesn't mean that they can get the job done or get the price correct, no matter what their salesman says.
